Delinquent Tax Collector

All property taxes remaining unpaid after May 15th (or the next business day if the 15th is on a weekend or holiday) of each fiscal year are considered delinquent and must be paid to the Delinquent Tax Collector.  At Town Meeting in March of 2017, voters authorized the Selectboard to appoint a collector of Delinquent Taxes.  On that same date, the Town Treasurer was appointed as Delinquent Tax Collector.

Taxes unpaid after the final installment date of May 15 will then be considered delinquent and will generate an eight percent (8%) penalty.  Delinquent tax payments will first be applied to the penalty until paid in full; then to the interest of one percent (1%) per month until paid in full; then to the property taxes still due.
